The group has spent time developing relationships with researchers, sponsors and key groups in agricultural industry to attract research and funding opportunities to grower groups.

Our charter is to provide coordinated leadership to the Australian pulse industry and to facilitate activities that will achieve improved profitability for all sectors of the industry.

Pulse is working on a Lupin N demonstration that will, along with one at Wongan Hills Research Station, is designed to show the value of residual N from Lupins. Other rotational benefits, such as alternative weed control opportunities and disease break, are not demonstrated but should be included in assessing the value of lupins for the rotation. 

The Department of Agriculture and Food assists the State's Agriculture, Food and Fibre sectors to be sustainable and profitable, with a clear focus on export-led growth. The Department enhances the international competitiveness of the State's agribusiness by working with them to meet the increasingly demanding standards for safety and quality of food and fibre products produced in an sustainable way.

The Saltland Pastures Association is a mix of farmers, researchers and interested community members who promote the use and benefits of saltland pastures. SPA has strong links and partnerships with other farmer groups and R&D organisations with an interest in productive saltland management 

The Grain & Graze Program invests in research to improve the profitability and sustainability of mixed farms, focusing on cropping, pastures, livestock, profitability, whole-farm economics, farming systems, social issues and natural resources such as soil, water and biodiversity.

One of the strengths of the program is the direct involvement of farmers in local trials, development and Extension activities, testing new farming practices on more than 100 research and demonstration sites across Australia.  The Facey Group had 3 members directly involved in Grain and Graze with  David White attending the final forum in Canberra as a representative of the Avon Region.  The group is l0ooking  forward to participating in Grain & Graze 2

The Avon Catchment Council (ACC) recently undertook a comprehensive review of its governing arrangements to ensure the regional group was moving forward with a better way to assist the community to manage their natural resources.  To reflect this transformation Avon Catchment Council has also change its name to Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management (NRM) Incorporated.

The South West Catchment Council is a community representative body that coordinates natural resource management in the South West region.  NRM is about the protection of land, air, bush, rivers, flora, fauna, people, culture, coastal and marine resources for the benefit of existing and future generations
