Each month the Facey Group & Syngenta will run the Facey Families and Farms themed photography competition.  Each month's winner will have their photo displayed on the home page of the website and have their winning photo used in the 2011 Facey Group calendar.  Each of the monthly winners will receive a great prize and go in the draw to win the grand prize - A DIGITAL CAMERA thanks to Syngenta.    Open to the Facey members and sponsors.

Photo Tips

Opportunity - The best photos of people I see are those taken when a spur of the moment opportunity arises, that one in a million situation that will never happen again and without someone having a camera in their hand would never be recorded. Look for opportunities to capture the moment and have that camera ready!

Light - Bright sunny days provide some of the most difficult conditions to photograph people, squinting eyes, shadows and bright highlights all make this a challenging environment. Use the softer light early and later in the day, as well as the warmth it can provide to add that glow to your image.

Natural - Posed shots can work, but think about the kind of image you want to end up with and the story it tells and whether a natural composition / format would be a better option. Sometimes the person you are photographing doesn’t even have to know the photo is being taken to capture their best angle!

Have fun – if it looks good to you that’s all that matters!

Monthly Competition

A monthly winner will be chosen from each months entries.  You have from the 1st of each month to the last day of that month to enter.  Entries do not need to reflect the month you are entering the photo.  For example you can submit a winter photo in February because photos will be shuffled around the final calendar to match the seasons.  

Grand Prize Winner

Each monthly winner goes in the running for the grand prize.  The winner will be voted by Facey Group members, sponsors and staff.

Are you under the age of 10?  

Children under the age of 10 are  welcome to submit drawings and artwork as well as photographs based on the theme Facey Families and Farms.  

How to Enter.

Fill in the entry form and send one of the three ways below to the Facey Group 

1) Email

 Artwork size must be 1MB in size and only emailed one at a time.  If emailing entries submit one entry form and ensure pictures are emailed within a 24 hour period to admin@faceygroup.asn.au

2) Post

Facey Families and Farms Competition, PO Box 129, Wickepin WA 6370

3) Drop into the Office

    Wogolin Rd, Wickepin WA 

Guidelines and Conditions

1.  All artwork must explore the theme “Facey Farms and Families”. The photo does not need to match the weather of the month it is submitted in.

2.  Completed Entry From must be submitted with all entries.  More than one picture can be included per entry form.

3.  Artwork size must be 1MB in size and only emailed one at a time.  If emailing entries submit one entry form and ensure pictures are emailed within a 24 hour period.

4.  Entries can be emailed, posted or dropped into the Facey Group office.

5.  All entries must be the work of the entrant.  Parents can sign for children under the age of 18.

6.  Announcement of monthly winners will be made the second week of the following month.

7.  All monthly winners will go into selection for the grand prize of a digital camera.  The major prize winner will be voted on by Facey Group members and sponsors.

8.  All entries must be in by the last day of the month over the course of the year with November 30^th the final date for submission.
